The climate and ecological crisis is the defining issue of our time. Last year, more people were displaced across the world due to extreme weather than by conflict, and there is now a 90% chance that one of the next five years will be the hottest on record. In the UK, issues of security, infrastructure, and how our nation will feed and power itself in the coming years are all impacted by the climate-nature crisis.
The CEE Bill presents MPs and Peers with a legislative blueprint to tackle these dual problems, and is supported by almost 150 Parliamentarians and a growing Alliance of faith, business and community leaders—alongside many of Britain’s leading scientific experts. Following in the footsteps of the Climate Change Act 2008, the CEE Bill offers HM Government a viable roadmap to protect our environment, traditions and heritage—and sets the highest possible standard for global leadership on climate and nature ahead of the COP26 summit this November.
